During a public hearing on the matter of Chestermere Utilities Incorporated (CUI), allegations of financial irregularities were raised by city finance staff. Subsequently, a media release was issued by Mayor Jeff Colvin, wherein a 12-point list summarizing the allegations was provided. The following day, Councillor Ritesh Narayan shared additional publicly-available clarifying details regarding some of these 12 points. Councillor Narayan noted that certain points could not be elucidated upon because audited financial statements for 2021 (expected to be complete in May 2022) were not yet available.
